Teeth Whitening

Does teeth whitening damage the teeth?
Whitening done under a dentist's supervision with suitable products is generally considered safe. Temporary sensitivity can occur. Your teeth and gums are examined first; if whitening is not suitable, other methods may be suggested.
What should I watch out for after whitening?
In the first days it is advisable to avoid strongly staining foods, drinks and habits such as tea, coffee, cola, red wine and smoking. Follow your dentist's advice on oral care and sensitivity.
How long does the whitening result last?
It varies from person to person; diet, smoking and oral care all play a role. Regular cleaning and, when advised by your dentist, touch-up sessions can help maintain the result.

Implants

Can everyone have dental implants?
It may not suit every patient. Bone volume and quality, gum health, general health and medications are assessed. Your dentist decides after examination and imaging.
How long does implant treatment take?
The duration depends on the person and the method used, and healing time for the bone may be needed. Your dentist will explain your personal timeline during planning.
How should I care for implants?
Regular brushing like natural teeth, using floss or interdental brushes and periodic dental check-ups are important. Smoking can negatively affect healing and long-term results.

Veneers

Do laminate veneers damage the teeth?
Depending on the type of application, a small amount of tooth reshaping may be needed. This and alternative methods are discussed in detail at the examination, and the decision is made together.
How do I clean veneers?
Regular brushing and flossing are enough. Avoiding biting hard objects and teeth clenching, and using a night guard if needed, can help them last longer.

Gum Recession

What causes gum recession?
Brushing too hard, gum disease, gum tissue type, teeth clenching and orthodontic factors may play a role. An examination is needed to assess the cause.
Will receded gums grow back?
Lost gum tissue does not grow back on its own. A check-up is recommended to prevent further progression and to evaluate treatment options if needed.

Dental Floss

Is flossing really necessary?
A toothbrush cannot fully reach the surfaces between teeth. Floss removes plaque from these areas and helps reduce the risk of decay and gum disease.

Wisdom Teeth

Do wisdom teeth always have to be removed?
No. Teeth that have enough room, erupted healthily and can be cleaned may not need removal. Teeth that stay impacted, cause infection or decay, or harm neighbouring teeth need a dentist's evaluation.
What should I take care of after wisdom tooth removal?
Follow the medication and care instructions your dentist gives you. On the first day it is usually advised to avoid hot food and drinks, vigorous rinsing and smoking, and to apply cold compresses.

Water Flosser

Can a water flosser replace brushing and flossing?
A water flosser is a helpful addition to cleaning, but it does not replace brushing. You can ask your dentist how to use it properly.

Jaw Clicking

My jaw clicks; do I need treatment?
A sound alone does not always need treatment if there is no pain, locking or difficulty opening. If you have complaints, an examination is advised to find the cause.
